Wouter invites Lien for lunch at the Wimpy after school. When they chat, Wouter brings up Riekie ( a girl from school) a lot, and Lien can't help but be irritated by it. Lien asks Wouter to buy her a "Bloubul''(Blue-bull) flag, cap, and a whistle but just tells him it is for a colleague, even though it is for Tibbey. When they leave, Donovan calls after Lien and asks her to come back to work for a higher wage. Lien is tempted, but she does not want to work for less money than she earns begging. Roos tells Lien about her ex-husband and her life before she started begging. Lien does not understand how people's lives can be turned upside-down so suddenly, and she thinks about the way she wishes the past two years had just been a dream. Lien visits Tibbey in the hospital often, and he starts to say a few words. When Lien and Hein go to inspect Tibbey's room at the bowls club, they realize that many adjustments and ramps will have to be made in order for Tibbey to be able to use the washbasin and bed, etc
