Sylvia and Elzahn are still sleeping at the hospital. Fransie did not move a millimetre the entire night. Sylvia goes to the cafeteria to get sandwiches and coffee. She has to wait behind a girl wearing baggy combat pants and a loose jacket. The girl waited for Sylvia outside the dining hall. She recognised Sylvia from “that time at the club when the police came in”. The girl asked Sylvia if she had any more marijuana and Sylvia denied, emphatically. The girl was at the hospital because her brother overdosed.
